Kathy-Lu is scheduled for heart surgery on August 25.
At that time the surgeon will repair or replace the mitral valve in her heart. This is necessary because that valve is now permanently in the open position, resulting in blood flowing both directions in that part of the heart. We praise God for the advances in surgical techniques that allow doctors to repair the valve or replace it. The surgeon will make the final decision whether to repair or replace the valve during the surgery.
